$How Much After Tax

Privacy Policy

Effective June 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how How Much After Tax(“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the How Much After Taxwebsite and calculator (the “Service”). The Service is a free take-home pay calculator that requires no account and no sign-in. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Scope

This policy covers the How Much After Tax website and calculator. It does not cover any third-party site, ad, or service you reach through a link or advertisement on the Service. Those are governed by their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review.

2. Information we collect

Calculator inputs stay in your browser. The salary, state, filing status, and any other figures you enter are processed entirely within your browser to compute a result. They are not transmitted to us, and we do not store them. We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or any account information, because the Service has no accounts and no sign-in.

Server logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, approximate location derived from it, browser and device type, the page requested, and timestamps. This request metadata is generated by routine web-server operation and is used to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose problems.

Advertising and analytics data. As described in Sections 4 and 5, advertising partners may collect information through cookies and similar technologies in your browser. We do not receive your calculator inputs from this; advertising data is handled by those partners under their own policies.

3. How we use information

We use the limited information described above to:

4. Cookies, advertising & tracking

The Service is supported by advertising. We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its advertising partners use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve and personalize ads, to measure ad performance, and to limit how often you see a given ad. In some cases this includes the use of a third-party advertising cookie (such as the Google DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can review and control how ads are personalized to you through Google’s Ad Center at myadcenter.google.com. You can also opt out of personalized advertising from many participating companies through the industry tools at optout.aboutads.info and, in the EU, at youronlinechoices.eu. Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads. You may still see non-personalized ads.

If you are visiting from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may be asked to consent before personalized ads and the associated cookies are used; where required, ads will be limited to non-personalized ads unless you provide consent. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, though blocking some cookies may affect how the Service or its ads function.

5. Third-party services & sub-processors

We rely on a small number of third parties to operate the Service. We do not control how these providers process data, and their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies:

The Service may also include affiliate or payroll-product links. If you click one, that third party may set its own cookies and process your information under its own policy, and we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share calculator inputs with anyone, because they never leave your browser. We share only the limited technical information described above with the service providers in Section 5 so they can perform their functions, and we may disclose information if required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of the Service and its users.

7. Data retention

Calculator inputs are not retained by us at all. They exist only in your browser for as long as you use the calculator. Server logs and advertising data are retained by our hosting and advertising providers in accordance with their own retention practices and applicable law. We keep only what we need for the purposes described in this policy.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and to opt out of targeted or personalized advertising. Because we do not maintain accounts and do not store the information you type, we typically hold no personal data tied to your identity. You can exercise advertising opt-out rights directly through the controls in Section 4. For any other request, contact us at support@howmuchaftertax.com and we will respond as required by applicable law.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the Service, including serving the site over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Because calculations run in your browser and we do not collect account data, there is little personal information for us to safeguard. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@howmuchaftertax.com and we will take appropriate steps.

11. International users

The Service is operated from, and information processed in connection with it is handled in, the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that any information processed by our hosting and advertising providers may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries, which may have data-protection laws different from those in your jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
